
Bio
Katrina Julianne is a queer feminist artist based in Nashville, Tennessee. Her multidisciplinary practice includes painting, collage, sculpture, and installation and explores the complex emotions associated with female identity and power. Raised in East Tennessee, Katrina draws on her studies in psychology to inform her use of animal and plant imagery, presenting complex emotions as natural and instinctual. Her immersive work often features bold, layered narratives that invite reflection and transformation.
A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with dual degrees in Visual Art and French, she completed an Honors thesis multimedia installation titled The Nature of Feminine Rage in 2021. In addition to her senior show, her art has been exhibited at COOP Gallery, Walnut House, and Soho House Nashville. Rooted in a progressive Southern identity, Katrina’s practice centers on art as a space for radical truth, communal resistance, and emotional healing.
Artist's Statement
Katrina’s work deals with topics such as the complicated nature of human emotions. Her studies in psychology play into her content, as she explores the role of women’s anger in society. Using animal and plant imagery, she presents these complex emotions as natural and healthy. Her work ranges from oil paints to book-making, sculpture and installation. By using a wide variety of media, she is able to expand her skills and explore the limits of traditional art.
